Whole Foods

"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"
                                                                  It's true people!

One of my weaknesses is not just chocolate...lets be honest...it's food in general! I love food and I love to cook from scratch which usually includes a whole lot of fat. I also like to cook healthy meals as well but some (okay a lot) are a total flop and it can be a lot more expensive and time consuming then sticking that pot of mac and cheese on the stove.

Eating healthy does take more effort. But keep it simple. Remember the food pyramid we learned in school and how complicated it was? Now they have come out with "my plate".
It gives you a nice visual. Instead of trying to count and figure out how much you should eat of each food group you can just picture this. Notice the protein is not the main meal here, it's the vegetables! (I need to work on that myself)

I have found that Pinterest has been a great way to find healthy recipes. There are lots of good blogs out there. One of my favorite websites for healthy recipes, that actually taste good, is

This week work on eating whole foods....not processed! That is a tough one!
What is your favorite healthy recipe and where do you find these recipes? Comment below.

  1. One favorite recipe is Crockpot taco soup

    Ingredients:
    (3) Frozen or cooked chicken breast
    1/2 medium chopped onion
    1 can chicken broth
1 regular can of stewed tomatoes
    1 can tomato sauce
    1 can green diced chili
    2 – 3 cups of water
    2 garlic glove minced
    1 tsp cumin
    1 tsp garlic salt
    1 tsp onion salt
    1 Tbs chili powder
    salt and pepper to taste

In crock pot put all ingredients on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 5 to 6 hours. Half way through or when chicken is cooked, take out chicken and shred it, then mix back in. Serve warm with a dollop of fat free sour cream, sprinkle low fat shredded cheese, and sliced avocado.
